My thoughts going into knee replacement number two and the tools I am preparing to use for rehab

Surgery day tomorrow! Much easier this second time around knowing the process of how to shower and gently clean the surgical leg. NO SHAVING... ANYWHERE to prevent possible infection- the Pre-op team will do that with an electric shaver right before surgery.

Things you need: walker, crutches, cane, ice, ace wraps, pill box, etc.

Definitely pick up those throw rugs all around the house: Coordination and focus is affected, then balance and agility take even longer to return, so get rid of any fall hazards.

Get some rest. I've got to get up at 4:15 a.m. to take another required shower then get to the hospital by 5:15 for my 7 a.m. surgery. My "23 and Me" DNA test told me I like to get up at 7:20, and I agree. But tomorrow I'm on the Doctor's schedule and it's time to think positive thoughts and get to bed.

Giving Thanks

As I write this during the Thanksgiving weekend, it makes sense to give thanks on many things, especially when it comes to being able to...
